Ferry Street Water Main Replacement
Jersey City, NJ
Grant Engineering provided construction inspection services for the installation of 1,370 ft of 12-inch water main, 480ft of 20-inch water main, 9 fire hydrants as well as water services to 70 houses on Ferry Street, Sherman Avenue, and Central Avenue.
Newark Lead Service Line Replacement
Newark, NJ
This project involves the replacement of 26,000 lead service lines within the City of Newark. The $122 million program involved replacement of half services (main to curb stop or curb stop to meter) or the full service (main to meter). Grant Engineering provided daily onsite inspection and reporting as part of the lead consultant’s onsite project inspection team. Our tasks included daily reporting, measurement of bid items for payment, locating the curb stop relative to various landmarks for GIS input. Our onsite representatives typically provided inspection oversight for 10-15 services (2-3 crews) on a daily basis.
Camden PFAS Project
Camden, NJ
Grant Engineering provided the preliminary design for a system to remove PFAS compounds from the potable water supply associated with the Parkside Water Treatment Plant (WTP).
The $10 million project involves installing Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) contactors and associated equipment at the Parkside WTP. GECG is providing weekly engineering support.

Camden CSO Regulator Rehabilitation Project
Camden, NJ
This project involves the rehabilitation of the CSO regulators within the City of Camden. The $5. l million program involves replacing and/or rehabilitating of the regulator assemblies, tide gates, and chambers at twenty-eight (28) locations throughout the City. Grant Engineering & Construction Group, LLC is providing daily onsite inspection of the replacement/rehabilitation work, and providing the contract operator (AWO&M, LLC) and the asset owner (City of Camden) with daily reports as the work progresses.
Nelson Avenue Storm Sewer Separation
Jersey City, NJ
Grant Engineering & Construction Group, LLC (GECG) serves as the civil engineer, construction manager, and construction inspector for this $15 million sewer separation project on Nelson A venue in Jersey City. Phase 1 ($5 million construction cost) of this project is currently under construction and will redirect stormwater runoff from a portion of Nelson Avenue into a new storm sewer on Leonard Street. It will also include redirection of an existing combined sewer on Terrace Avenue and Leonard Street to Terrace Avenue and Secaucus Avenue to a larger combined sewer interceptor.
Linden Roselle Sewerage Authority

Frenchman's View Condo Rehabilitation
St. Thomas, USVI
The common elements and most of the Owner’s units at Frenchman’s View Condominium Association (FVCA) sustained damages from Irma in August 2018. Grant Engineering provided Construction Management services involving restoration of the affected Owner’s units and common elements. Work included roof repair, window and porch replacement.The 14-month project was completed and the Owner’s were able to reoccupy their units prior to start of the next hurricane season.
Al Cohen Storefront
St. Thomas, USVI
This storefront was damaged by Hurricane Irma in 2018. Grant Engineering provided structural engineering for the 120-foot storefront replacement. This included the installation of a new steel beam spanning between the column lines of the existing prefabricated metal building. Analysis of the existing column web for buckling was also part of the design as shown below.
Asbury Park Boardwalk Reconstruction
Asbury Park, NJ
Grant Engineering worked as the engineering subconsultant to B&B Hi-Tech surveying to create the Boardwalk reconstruction drawings and specifications. Reconstruction of the FEMA-funded project was completed by the City and remains a major attraction during late Spring thru early Fall. The design involved drilled concrete piles to reduce vibration of pile driving on the adjacent structures, including the historic Convention Hall.However, the City opted for drilled timber piles to reduce construction cost.

North Richards Road Reconstruction
Borough of Somerville, NJ
This project involved the reconstruction of a 1,000-foot residential access roadway on North Richards A venue (from Putnam Street to Adams Street). We improved drainage via storm drain upgrade and cross section percentage increase. We provided compliant ADA ramps within the project area. This project replaced a 2-inch asphalt road that was 40-years old. The project was jointly funded by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) and the Borough of Somerville
Traffic Signal Upgrade Program - 8 Intersections
Hudson County, NJ
Grant Engineering was retained by NV5 (Traffic Engineering Consultant) to provide topographic surveys for eight (8) intersections in Hudson County for signal and ADA accessibility upgrades. The surveys were performed in Hoboken (2 intersections), West New York (l intersection), Jersey City (2 intersections), North Bergen (2 intersections), Kearny (l intersection). Surveys were completed on NAD83 horizontal datum and NA VD88 vertical datum .
Road Improvements & ADA Ramp Upgrades

Grant Engineering was retained by Lucas Brothers, Inc., the ADA ramp contractor, to perform analysis of new ADA ramps to confirm PROWAG[l] compliance for Middlesex County Engineering Department. Our analysis included acquisition and analysis of surveyed ramp transition points to confirm that running slopes and cross slopes satisfied the PROWAG requirements based on ramp type.

Green St. Parking & Office Building
31 Green St. Newark, NJ
The Newark Parking Authority’s Green Street project includes 650 parking spaces in a six-level precast concrete parking structure and 25,000 square feet of office space. This office space will be used by the City of Newark Municipal Court System and will also serve as the new headquarters for the Newark Parking Authority. In addition, 2,500 square feet of retail space will be provided on the ground level.
Warehouse Interior Alterations & addition / site improvements
720 Frelinghuysen Ave., Newark, NJ
This 4.4 acre project involved rehabilitation of an existing 115,000 sf. three-story warehouse and addition of a 64,000 sf. one-story warehouse. New parking areas and an underground stormwater detention system were designed as part of the site improvements. Site improvements also included new landscaping, site lighting, ADA parking spaces, and eight truck loading bays.
Religious & Charitable Services Center
205 Jumping Brook Road, Neptune, NJ
Grant Engineering provided surveying andsite plan engineering services charitable Services Center project. The 2.40-acre site design was impacted by offsite wetlands which required approval by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The client wanted to maximize parking, so we designed two underground stormwater retention systems which reduced the flow rates to predevelopment levels and maintained pre-existing drainage runoff pattern to the wetlands. This $4 million project allows the United Methodist Church of Greater New Jersey to expand their mission to serve New Jersey’s most vulnerable residents.

70-unit Residential Development ,
715 Park Avenue, East Orange, NJ
The East Orange Board of Education headquarters was repurposed into seventy (70) residential apartments with 49 parking spaces provided via the underground garage, and 59 spaces provided via surface parking. This project required a density variance and required Essex County Planning Board approval along with permitting approval from the Passaic Valley Sewerage Authority.

The City of Newark has prioritized the City’s need for quality and modern affordable housing developments. Netta Architects designed this 20-unit 4-story affordable building that represents the first phase of an affordable housing development program in this area.
Parkview Asbury Park
Springwood Avenue, Asbury Park, NJ
The Turf Club Residence project consists of ten (10) 2-unit Townhomes in the Springwood Avenue Redevelopment Area. This project is the first residential project on Springwood A venue in 40 years. It represents a significant development in an area that experienced civil unrest in the 1970s. Interfaith Neighbors, a non-profit with extensive experience in providing new affordable and workforce housing in Asbury Park and Neptune Township, continues to deliver on its mission of Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

Retaining Wall Structure Assessment / Replacement
East Orange, NJ
The East Orange Board of Education replaced two (2) structurally deficient retaining walls at the East Orange Campus High School. Grant Engineering provided the structural assessment and repair recommendation. We prepared a construction estimate based on two (2) wall replacement options, (i) reinforced CMU, and (ii) segmental retaining wall. We recommended a designbuild project delivery method to expedite the project schedule so that the wall replacement could be completed before the start of the upcoming school year.
16-Building Rehabilitation Program
Newark, NJ
The City of Newark, New Jersey’s largest City, completed a $20 million sale leaseback transaction with Essex County Improvement Authority {ECIA) as part of its 2012 budget financing program. Grant Engineering was hired by the City as the ECIA Program Manager for this project. The program involved HVAC upgrades, window replacements, ADA upgrades, and exterior wall repairs on 16 buildings including the Municipal Court, various Firehouses, Fire House Headquarters, and the Finance Building.
Verona Salt Storage Shed
Newark, NJ
Grant Engineering provided surveying, and civil and structural design for a new Salt Storage facility with vehicle weighing station/scale, and field office building for the City of Newark’s Department of Public Works. The project also included a new underground stormwater detention system, site lighting, new fencing, and a fourteen foot (14′) high segemented retaining wall.
