ANNOUNCEMENT: GECG Newark project featured in metal architecture magazine

Grant Engineering and Construction Group’s (GECG) 650 Springfield Avenue Mixed-Use Development project was featured in this month’s issue of Metal Architecture Magazine. The article, called The Four D’s of Rainscreen Design, was published on May 16, 2024: https://www.metalarchitecture.com/articles/the-four-ds-of-rainscreen-design/

GECG provided site plan and stormwater detention system design as well as land use planning to this $9.5 million 76-unit project. This development consists of twenty (20) 3-unit townhomes, and one (1) 16-unit mixed use building on the corner of South 17th Street and Springfield Avenue in Newark, New Jersey. This represents a substantial investment in Newark’s West Ward along the Springfield Avenue corridor.

At GECG, we prioritize creating buildings that stand the test of time and the elements. One critical component in our arsenal for achieving this is the implementation of rainscreen systems. These systems are meticulously designed to manage moisture and protect the integrity of a building’s structure. Our approach revolves around the same “Four Ds” of rainscreen design mentioned in the article.
